Million Dollar Weekend (1948)
Director: Gene Raymond

A desperate stockbroker embezzles $1 million and flees to Shanghai. Onboard, he teams up with a woman escaping her blackmailing husband.
Trivia: Gene Raymond (Nicholas Lawrence) was known for his roles in 1930s film such as Hitchcock's Mr. and Mrs. Smith. He directed Million Dollar Weekend in an effort to transition into filmmaking. Though only a modest success at release, the movie later gained cult status for its tight script, noirish tone, and rare location shoots in Hawaii. Raymond returned to acting afterward.
