A group of men led by the psychopath John Baron (Frank Sinatra) plan to assassinate the President of the United States at a train stop in the town of Suddenly, CA. They enter a hilltop house overlooking the train station and take the family hostage while they wait for the train to arrive.
Trivia: Although he's best known today as a singer with several number one hits to his credit, Frank Sinatra was an accomplished actor. He won the 1953 Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in From Here to Eternity. In the 1940s Paramount pictures promoted Sterling Hayden (Sheriff Tod Shaw) as "The Most Beautiful Man in the Movies".
