An aspiring young lawyer (James Stewart) meets a girl (Carole Lombard) while on a business trip and marries her after knowing her just one day. His mother disapproves of the marriage and a baby makes things even more difficult.

Trivia: James Stewart was nominated for five Academy Awards, winning the Best Actor award once for It's a Wonderful Life. Carole Lombard (Jane Mason) was married to actor Clark Gable. She's listed as #23 in the AFI's list of the 50 Greatest American Female Screen Legends. She died in a plane crash at the age of 33 when returning home from a War Bonds event. She was posthumously awarded the Medal of Freedom by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as the first woman killed in the line of duty in World War II. Charles Coburn (Judge Doolittle) was a three-time Academy Award nominee, winning once for Best Supporting Actor.
